Reflection: Building Your Personal Website

Hello, my name is Keily. For this activity, I followed the steps from the class recording to create my personal website on WordPress.com. My site uses the .blog domain: keilysofianunezchaves.blog.

After class, I continued working on my site. I chose the “Assembler” theme with a soft pastel color palette. My site features a top menu that includes an introductory page “About Me” and a “More Information” button, a home page displaying my posts, and a footer section.

One issue I encountered was that my domain was suspended. I discovered that the contact email for a new domain must be verified, and I hadn’t done so. After verifying the email and waiting for the changes to take effect, my site went live.

I learned how to create and publish a site using WordPress.com, as well as the difference between WordPress.com (where I build my site) and WordPress.org (home to the community and courses). I also learned that new domains require email verification, so I need to complete this step immediately after creating the domain.

Below, I have included screenshots of my site as evidence.
